200 universities & colleges from 25 countries to participate at GHEDEX 2016

Muscat, 19th April 2016: Oman’s leading Global Higher Education Exhibition – GHEDEX commenced today, 19th April 2016, and will take place until 21st April 2016 from 9:30am-1:00pm & 4:30pm-9:00pm. Held under the patronage of the Ministry of Higher Education and organized by OITE Trade Fairs, GHEDEX will be inaugurated by H.E. Sheikh Saad Bin Mohammed Bin Said Al-Mardhoof Al-Saadi, Minister of Sports Affairs at 07.00 pm at the Oman International Exhibition Centre.

Attracting students from across the Sultanate of Oman, GHEDEX 2016 will provide students and parents the option of choosing from among 200 top-notch universities and colleges from over 25 countries, out of which 170 educational bodies and institutions make up international participation and 30 makes up local participation. Participating countries at GHEDEX include Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Canada, Cyprus, Egypt, France, Germany, Ireland, Jordan, Korea, Malaysia, Malta, Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Pakistan, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Scotland, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and United States of America besides the Sultanate of Oman.

GHEDEX is a high-profile higher education event every student must take full advantage of when undertaking career plans and choosing a higher-studies destination, be it within the country or abroad.


NEW – GHEDEX Informative Talks

Informative talks will take place on 20th and 21st April 2016. Topics to be covered will be Future needs for Oman’s education – The digital transformation, Distance learning and technology, Technology as the game changer, Education synergy with employment and from human resources to human capital.

Well-renowned speakers from public and private sectors will be sharing their knowledge with attendee’s like Amira Abdullah Al-Busaidy, Sr. Project Specialist – SAS center for virtual reality, Digital Society Development division, ITA; Hamed Salim Al Shukairi, Director of Digital Services & Initiatives, Ministry of Education; William Spindloe, Director Asia Pacific, IHRDC; Peter Wadsworth – Director of Educational Technology, ABA; Mohammed Abdulsattar Al Balushi, Physics teacher, Ministry of Manpower; Issa Al Balushi, Director of employment service, Ministry of Manpower; Dr.Ramin Mohajer, Advisor on Human Resource Development to the CEO, ITA and many more.

These talks will be free-to-attend so visitors are requested to do attend these informative talks.



Morning & Evening Seminar sessions will be held at GHEDEX 2016 on all three days from 9:30am-1:00pm & 4:30pm-9:00pm. These seminars are free of charge, so students visiting GHEDEX are encouraged to attend them to gain insight on various, programmes, procedures, courses and choices being offered by various institutions.
